Aline Joyce Berabose is a 21-year-old youth leader from Rwanda, who is passionate about peace building, gender equality and youth empowerment.
Aline began volunteering with the elderly in her community at the age of 14. In August 2014, as president of her school’s debate club, Aline was offered a scholarship to attend the Debate Academy in the United Kingdom. Later that year, she attended the Global Youth Forum in Kansas City in the role of facilitator.
During the Global Youth Peace Summit held in August 2016 in Texas, Aline was inspired by hearing stories of other youths that were very similar to her own. The experience led her to co-found the African Dream Movement (ADM), a Pan-African initiative to empower underprivileged youth into becoming global citizens and effective leaders of tomorrow. Aline currently works as the Project Manager for ADM.
Aline has also been granted the distinction of Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society. She is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative—Yali, a program initiated by President Barack Obama.
