Abraham Bongassie Wanta is Concern’s Country Director in the Republic of Sudan. He has worked with Concern for the last 12 years in different African countries holding both senior managerial and technical positions.
With over thirty years’ experience in both government and non-governmental organisations in Ethiopia, Uganda, Angola, Malawi and Zambia, Mr. Bongassie has dedicated his life to working with poor and marginalized communities in Africa.
Beginning his career as a teacher, Mr. Bongassie later worked as an extension worker with the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture and with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission as head of regional office in Ethiopia. He also worked for a number of years with Save the Children.
Mr. Bongassie holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Agricultural Economics and Counseling.
